Online gambling regulation to boost up the tax revenue

The Justice Ministry in Switzerland has been given an assignment to draft a proposal with the aim of licensing and controlling a small number of Internet gambling operations, according to Swiss info this week. The proposal is going to be finally being introduced before Parliament, and is going to most probably form part of a public consultation process as well.
The liberalization is part of a motive to more directly control betting with the intention of fighting illegitimate gambling in the country, and harsh limitations on non-licensed operations are going to be part of the general plan.
Specialists say the new forms of licensed gambling has a potential to produce tax income of up to an expected SFr26 million ($22 million) yearly.
