Recently, The Ministry of Public Security has reveled that police officers have arrested more then two hundred and eighty five suspects on the acquisition of illegal gambling and on prostitution charges. More then four hundred police officers successfully executed this operation. They had targeted eight gambling parlors and 1 prostitution sting.
This action was undertaken on the basis of complain made by a local residents regarding gambling and a prostitution ring in their neighborhood. Police authorities have not reveled the timing of the bust and also whether there was any connection between gambling parlors and the prostitution sting.
Ministry officials said that most of the bettors where from Tianjin and Beijing. After this, the ministry further reveled that they will now be targeting illegal workshops, prostitution rings, betting and black markets and will strictly focus on eradicate their 'protective umbrellas'.
