The Kentucky Court of Appeals granted petitions

Three Kentucky Court of Appeals judges energized the US presidential investiture celebrations Tuesday by giving an optimistic ruling for the liberty of the Internet in an appeal in opposition to the seizure of international domain names by a local county court judge.
In a statement, the judges regulated that the commonwealth of Kentucky overextended itself in holding 141 global online gambling domain names taken away by a Frankfort Circuit Court judge pending a susceptible exclusion. The state's action was vigorously resisted by domain owners and Internet freedom associations including the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association. The Interactive Gaming Council rejected the state's action as well.
End of last year the issue was transferred to the superior Kentucky Court of Appeals after the conceding of a Motion to Stay on the county court's judgments.
The state government move was led by outsourced lawyers believed to be working on an eventuality basis, with Governor Steve Beshear going around the state attorney general in going after an issue that had strong commercial protectionist overtones.
