The report from NCSRC (National Centre for Social Research to the Commons) has recently revealed that over the past few years, there occurs significant increase in participation of women in gambling games in United Kingdom. In fact, the report has highlighted that women had shown huge participation in all online and land-based casino games, such as scratch cards, slots, bingo etc., with the exclusion of National Lottery.
As per the statement of researchers, “We are observing drastic increase in the involvement of number of women and old aged people in gambling games, which resulted in the increase of proportion of regular gamblers.” In addition to this, from the BGPS (British Gambling Prevalence Survey) report of 2010, “Although, men will have strong addiction towards gambling games as compared to women, but now this gap is narrowing consistently.” The reports have also highlighted some other worth noting facts associated with increase in number of women in gambling games.
