 The police officials of India had recently arrested 6 men in Kandivali region of the country. These men are suspected to have their involvement in one of the illegal and unauthorized betting racket. The Indian police force revealed that the arrested men had placed their bets on Betfair.com, which is regarded as one of the renowned sports betting exchange of United Kingdom.
According to the statementof the police officer associated with the case, “Before 1 year, our police department have requested gambling authorities of India to put restrictions on websites of Betfair in India. However, the authorities have not yet taken any strict actions regarding the request of Indian police departments.” According to the statement of Crime Branch Officer, “Somebody in Unite Kingdom had created one account with Betfair.com. This person issued the password to all the 6 arrested people. Thus, arrested people have accessed the website and wagered on IPL matches.
