Back in 2007 the force by US federal authorities to interrupt online gambling by targeting financial companies which operated and managed gambling transactions netted close to $19.2 million in seizure orders influencing the Canadian-based Optimal Group Inc., known as ‘FirePay’ amongst online gamblers.
The seizures were conducted due to the Optimal affiliated companies had been taking part in supposedly illegitimate gambling transactions from 2004 until 2006.
According to the Reuters news agency, a follow-up to the case this week when U.S. prosecutors stated Friday that Optimal recognized that Internet gambling merchants breached U.S. criminal regulation by providing gambling in the United States.
