167 Prince William County, Virginia workers won incentives that may be worth some thousand dollars enough to purchase homes in the uptown county, in a ground-breaking lottery trying to ease some of the depression due to a repercussion of foreclosures.
According to the reports of Associated Press Lottery, the winners are going to get incentives equals to quite a lot of money, enough to purchase homes in the county, which has been suffering from the housing catastrophe. County officials says the lottery was the new kind in the United States, and has double goals of impacting on the county's housing glut and aiding county workers - about 40 % of whom live outside the county - manage to pay for housing in Prince William.
The county made a deal with SunTrust Bank: The County deposited $50 million of its asset portfolio into official documents of deposit from SunTrust and in response the bank concurred to provide a series of financial incentives to a select number of county workers.
