Nick Xenophon vs. online casino applications
Australian Senator Nick Xenophon, an enthusiastic opponent of gambling in general, has marked a new target. Xenophon states that mobile phone applications which imitate gambling and play like online casino games are supposed to be banned in order to avoid the participation of youngsters in gambling.
Applications for tools including the iPhone replicate poker and slot machines being available for children, the Australian official told the Sydney Morning Herald. Downloads are free, with no age confirmation, and payouts and procedures are the same as that of actual casino games.
"It's careless to permit these applications in the hands of children," Senator Xenophon commented. "Kids are able to turn out t be poker machines experts years before they are legally allowed to set eyes on a real machine."
